Sometimes it can be a challenge to understand what your politician of choice is actually saying when they use key phrases at the public. To better comprehend what our elected scumbags really mean when they use their talking points, I have begun aggregating some of the more common codes...
Says: "Its time to have the conversation about _____."
Means: "I'm going to lie to you about a subject that will get me votes/get me paid, and your opinion doesn't matter, plebe."
Says: "Common-sense."
Means: "Politically expedient."
Qualifier: Anytime you see common sense hyphenated and used as a descriptor rather than a noun and you don't have shrimp boots on to protect you from the flood of bullshit, run.
Says: "Fair share."
Means: "You dumb bastards think I'm actually fighting for you. C'est la vie, its mucho revenue."
Says: "National security"
Means: "Political security"
Says: "_____ is a threat to national security."
Means: "_____ can really embarrass us if it goes public."
Qualifier: Espionage is when we tell the truth about them, government is when they lie to us.
Says: "Freedom fighter."
Means: "Terrorist."
Qualifier: these terms are interchangeable depending on who is in office.
Says: "Racism!"
Means: "I have no logical point to counter your fact driven argument!"
Qualifier: This also works for every online argument, ever. Usually in conjunction with Godwin's law
Says: "...begun under the previous administration"
Means: "we are continuing some horrible and probably criminal practice that has no basis in law or human decency and we will get away with it by blaming the previous chief shitbird that at least half of you hate."
